Patch Notes Demo 2026.0.1.13212

Trash Day

🛞 Wagon & Item Physics

  • Gravity-Compliant Loot: Items in the wagon now settle downward when you pull from the bottom of the pile, rather than hovering in mid-air.
  • Smoother Depositing: Items settling in the wagon no longer push against the movement of the wagon.
  • 🪦 RIP Plank Flying: A side effect of this fix grounds the legendary plank flying technique. You can no longer chain jumps mid-air while holding a plank. We know you loved it. Recreating it now would require building the bug back in on purpose.
  • Anti-Wedge Underside: Upgraded the wagon's underside with low-friction collision and push-away triggers so items no longer get wedged under the chassis.
  • Wagon Upgrades & Tuning:
  • Wheels now visibly spin and roll as the wagon moves!
  • Freshly attached wheels start tightened at 20% instead of 1% so they don’t fall off right away.
  • Idle braking engages faster at low speeds so your wagon won't slowly drift away while unattended.
  • Lowered the wagon's center of mass slightly to reduce accidental tip-overs.
  • Replaced the wagon's back leash with a bite and push bar. This should help clarify the front and back side steering behavior.

🦝 Raccoons & Camera

  • Pulled-Back Camera: Moved the default camera back slightly to combat some of the comments on motion sickness.
  • Dangle Polish: Improved mid-air bite-hanging animations so raccoons look much cleaner when dangling off low ledges or objects.
  • Upright Speed: Sped up the walking animation while carrying objects upright.
  • Safe Join Physics: Joining players now remain non-physical until fully loaded into the network session, preventing them from falling through the wagon or crushing teammates on spawn.
  • Focus Safety: Inputs (including the Look-Behind bind) automatically release when alt-tabbing or losing game window focus.

🐕 Dogs & Wildlife

  • Consequences for Aggro: Sleeping dogs will now immediately wake up if you throw an object at them or attack them. As they say, it is safer to let sleeping dogs lie.
  • Bark Upgrades: Fixed some of the dog’s bark sound effects to not overlap.

🗺️ Level & Navigation

  • Mountain Pass Checkpoints: Added a brand-new checkpoint at the start of Mountain Pass.
  • Pacing & Guidance: Added a "Trash Day" billboard before the underpass and relocated the in-world Wishlist prompt past the vending machines to help guide player flow.
  • Platforming Fixes: Made shipping boxes under the underpass smaller and easier to jump over.
  • Terrain & Bug Fixes: Patched numerous out-of-bounds gaps, terrain stuck spots, clipping steps, and floating props across the map.

🎶 Audio & SFX

  • Fresh Soundscapes: Added and updated sound effects across the board, including piñata impacts, beehive breaks, bear traps, vending machines, rubber chickens, action cams, bats, ovens, tethers, water splashes, and game-over/revive stingers.
  • Loop Optimization: Looping sound effects now use pooled audio sources for better performance and smoother fade in/out.

🖥️ UI & Quality of Life

  • Menu Focus Fixes: Clicking empty screen space no longer resets your controller focus, and exiting the Options menu returns your focus directly to your previous button position.
  • Lobby Select: The Join Game menu now defaults your cursor to the first available lobby instead of the "Back" button.
  • Progress Meter Fix: The progress meter no longer faintly lingers on screen when it should be hidden.
  • Controls & Keybinds: Rebinding a control no longer accidentally switches menu tabs, F11 now cleanly toggles borderless fullscreen, and F8 opens the feedback window.
  • Better Network Errors: Added clearer, human-readable error messages when a host disconnects or a VPN interferes with the network connection.

⚙️ Performance & Tech

  • Massive Fur Optimization: Optimized raccoon fur rendering across the board. Low graphics settings disable fur entirely.
  • Join Hitch Fix: Fixed the multi-second physics freeze when clients join an active session by ensuring all spawned rigidbodies load in a sleeping state.
  • Network Bandwidth: Quadrupled Steam network send buffers to reduce desync and connection drops during physics-heavy moments.
  • Loot Digging: Trash can debris no longer blocks you from grabbing items resting at the very bottom of a trash can.
  • Item Contestation: If two raccoons try to grab the same object at the exact same millisecond, ownership is now cleanly awarded to whoever grabbed it first.
