Dev Diary #013: Magical Items
Hello, players!
In our previous developer diaries, we introduced you to the Magic Land, its inhabitants, and some of the places Toto will discover on his adventure.
Toto is brave, loyal, and kind — but where do his magical abilities come from?
The answer lies in the unusual discoveries he will come across along the way — the Magical Items.
Each one grants Toto a unique power and unlocks new possibilities for exploration and puzzle-solving.
These unusual artifacts will accompany Toto throughout his journey. Each carries a power of its own, granting him new abilities and revealing new ways to explore the Magic Land.
One of these artifacts is the Star Pebble. Players who joined our playtest may already have an idea of what its magic can do. :)
Long ago, a tiny shard of an enchanted star fell into the Land of Oz. Separated from the sky it once called home, it never stopped trying to return. Its power was so immense that, in one desperate attempt to escape the earth, the Pebble nearly lifted an entire mountain into the air.
But eventually, it came to understandt that what drew it back was not homesickness, but the fear of being alone. In kind hands — or paws! — the Pebble grows calm and shares its power, temporarily weakening the pull of gravity.
With the Star Pebble’s help, Toto can open new paths, reach inaccessible areas, and solve unusual puzzles during his adventure.
