Test next week's patch on a Beta Branch
Hello Expeditioners,
We hope your journeys towards the Mound have been full of adventure, treasure, and definitely not full of horrifying hallucinations and mind bending creatures.
Since launch, we've had a lot of feedback and the teams are already hard at work on a first patch that will resolve some of the things you've brought up.
Please note that if you want to try this Open Beta patch, the crossplay isn't enabled.
Things we're looking into:
- Optimisation (FPS & performance)
- Inventory Management (coming next patch for keyboard & mouse. Controller support to follow in a later update)
- Server Finder Password for playing with friends on different platforms
- A preconfig screen letting you choose between the Cinematic or Default camera (this already exists in the settings for the players who may feel a lack of responsiveness or lag, if you want to try it out already).
- Other Quality of Life Features and Bug Fixes
- Some balancing and configuration tweaks
We'll have a full list of the changes prepped to go live alongside the patch, so stay tuned for more information.

And if you're interested, you can check these updates right now on the Open Beta branch we've set up here on Steam. This will allow you to play the latest version of the patch as it stands right now. It's possible that this version may have some unintended bugs, so if you come across anything, please let us know in the Steam discussions or our developer Discord.
Just note, that while playing on the Open Beta branch you will not be able to play with console players or players who are not on the same branch. So if you're looking to play with friends, make sure that you're on the correct branch to be able to play with them. You can swap branches at any time.
So, how to access the beta branch?
- RESTART your Steam App
- Go to your Steam game library
- Right click on *The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu* and click [c]Properties...[/c]
- Select the tab [c]Game Versions & Betas [/c]
- In the first dropdown box select [c][OPEN BETA][/c]
- Click close and wait for the update to finish downloading
- Please review your graphic setting in game again after applying the patch.

We're planning to release this patch on all platforms early next week with some additional tweaks and changes that will be made ahead of release.
