Monetisation vision
This update introduces some of our monetisation systems, I want to go in more detail on our vision for monetisation in Strikers Club.
Strikers Club is a free-to-play game. The game costs nothing to download and play.
What will be purchasable with real money: Playstyles, Cosmetics, convenience features, color palettes
What can be earned for free: Playstyles, some cosmetics
What will NEVER be purchasable: Gameplay advantages
Playstyles
Playstyles change the skill moves your player has. Swapping out the default rainbow flick for moves like the sombrero flick or fake shot and other movement skills. These playstyles have been balanced to provide a different way to play, not a better way to play. They allow you to synergise with your team in different ways and let you play in the way that suits you best. We will never lock these exclusively behind a paywall. While you can spend money to unlock them right away, you will always be able to just play the game to unlock them 100% free. You can earn the currency (Fame) by playing quickplay matches. More ways to earn Fame will be introduced as development continues (Think of things like challenges).
Cosmetics
Cosmetics change the way your player looks. They will be grounded but not always conform to the strict ruling in real football matches. The most important rule we keep ourselves to is keeping team association clear. Team colors are planned for a Club update later. Cosmetics will never give a gameplay advantage. Some cosmetics can be unlocked using Fame 100% free.
Convenience features
These features provide an added value without impacting gameplay and will mostly (if not completely) be bundled into the "Strikers Club Pro" DLC. A one-time purchase. Think of features like customized quick chat and multiple character presets. These convenience features will be introduced at a later time.
Color Palettes
There are two types of color palettes: Item and Hair. You'll receive a free palette with basic / natural hair colors and are free to use these on all your cosmetics. You can optionally purchase more palettes to have more options (pastel colors, neon colors, unnatural hair colors). Once you purchase a palette, you unlock it for all cosmetic slots that have the same type (Hair = Hairstyle, Facial hair, Eyebrows, all other slots use the Item palette). Cosmetics have a Primary, Secondary and Detail color. Which ones are available depend on the cosmetic. Jerseys for example only have a detail color because the Primary and Secondary colors are always the team color. Shoes have all 3 so you can individually change the colors of the shoe base, its shoelaces, and pattern for example.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have. If you still have doubts, please check out our other game Slapshot: Rebound which has been running for nearly 6 years and has never introduced predatory monetisation.
