News & Patch Notes

Patch 1.0.1

Hey everyone!

We're rolling out our first big patch, fixing the most critical issues you reported to us over the weekend.

Critical

  • Fixed a bug where the Captain's interactions were missing after loading an autosave made during rest.
  • The mission menu can no longer be opened at the wrong moment and soft-lock your progress.
  • Fixed the coffee machine.

Story & Characters

  • Several dialogues didn't account for whether a character was alive or dead — conversations now behave logically as the story unfolds.
  • Fixed the journal entry about Zack — there was a strange bug there.
  • Fixed Kelly's lines during the Temple quest when she's just standing by the door. A few of you reported this one.

Sound

  • Audio balance tweaks.

Various gameplay fixes

  • Fixed getting stuck in the terminal during the Mutiny ending.
  • Added a collider to block going out of bounds in the cave during the Cthulhu ending.
  • Fixed the journal entry not showing up when you kill Kelly.
  • Fixed geometry issues and clipping characters.
  • The darts leaderboard should now refresh daily and behave more correctly.
  • Input is now properly blocked while the Steam overlay is open.
  • Fixed text overflowing UI borders, plus minor translation issues.

Coming later this week

  1. A console with a lore Log, where you'll be able to read the notes that the player and other characters find throughout the game.
  2. An end-of-game screen with your playthrough branches, so you can see how much content you've unlocked across different runs.
  3. More sound design and dialogue fixes. We're re-listening to every recorded line and bringing the text in line with what's actually said.

We're also keeping a close eye on your comments in the Steam Community and on Discord, and doing our best to respond to everything. Thank you for your feedback — we've put in a huge amount of work, and we'll do our best to close out all remaining issues this week. If you run into anything as you keep playing, let us know!

*P.S. If you're enjoying the ride: please consider wishlisting Leviathan: Rhino, a narrative horror project coming this fall! Our team is helping a talented solo developer bring his new game to life — a story about a dying village facing an approaching, colossal Leviathan.*
