A heads-up to all our fellow parasites: the Pathogenic demo will be taken offline on July 14th 15:00 UTC, exactly two days before launch.

We’ve contemplated this decision for a while. Seeing everyone enjoying the demo so much and sharing all the crazy builds has been a big part of our motivation to keep working on the game, and we will dearly miss all the ridiculous combos from your pathogens (until the full game comes out, at least). Unfortunately, as a small dev team of two, we simply don’t have the capacity to maintain the demo while working on the full game.

You might have noticed the demo has received multiple updates since Next Fest started. We’ve been continuously implementing optimizations and fixes, the very same ones added to the WIP full version, to make sure the demo properly represents the final gameplay. Now that Pathogenic is in the final sprint, simultaneously working on the full game and maintaining the demo is stretching us thin.

That’s why we have decided to disable the demo, to shift the focus towards the full game instead of juggling between the two versions after release. Good news is that it will only be a couple days from launch, so the wait won’t be long. A massive thanks to everyone who tried our demo, left a review, sent us feedback, and, of course, wishlisted Pathogenic. Our pathogens have come a long way thanks to your passionate support for our demo, and we will miss it as much as you do.

That said, your infection in the demo still matters! All accumulated plasmids will be transferred to the full game, giving your pathogen a strong start to conquer the human body at launch. The pathogens are only hibernating for a couple days -- they will soon come back stronger than ever on Jul 16.

In the meantime, we’ll be sharing more news about the full game until launch! Stay tuned on our socials and/or join us on Discord for more info and/or talk about all things Pathogenic!
