100k Wishlists and EA Roadmap

Expeditions: Samurai

Hello everyone! Tomorrow, we're releasing Expeditions: Samurai in Early Access. Remember a mere 2 months ago, when we announced that the fourth game in the critically acclaimed Expeditions series was going to be set in Japan? In the short time since then, we've been racking up the wishlists and the night before yesterday we hit 100,000 wishlists, which bodes very well for our impending Early Access launch.

Thank you so much to all of you who let our trailers and our dev diaries catch your interest and decided to wishlist our game. We've always had great confidence in our game, and it's wonderful to see that you share this confidence and are excited about what we're making for you.

Early Access Roadmap

To those of you who didn't see our "Behind Early Access" dev vlog, or perhaps just missed the part where we showed our Early Access roadmap, here it is in stationary form so you can peruse it at your own pace:

We expect Update 1 to come out fairly soon after our initial release, as the influx of players will no doubt focus our efforts and guide us to make certain improvements and changes to the game, which we'll want to get back into the hands of players as fast as we can.

Meanwhile, a part of our team is already working towards Update 2, to ensure we'll have a fun and polished Act 2 ready for you about half-way through the EA period. This will be the biggest of our updates, adding lots of new quests and their corresponding levels and characters.

As we mentioned in the last dev vlog post, tomorrow's release will offer roughly 6-8 hours of play time, and we expect update 2 to add similar or even slightly greater amount of content, at an estimated 6-10 additional hours.

Update 3 will mostly focus on gameplay content such as new equipment and character options, and we also expect to act on the most pressing feedback we'll receive for Act 2.

Please note that the Early Access version of the game will launch at a slightly reduced price point compared to the final release, because we believe that you, who take a risk on an unfinished game, should be rewarded for that.

Finally, we will have a public issue tracker linked from the main menu of the game, and of course we will love to receive and discuss your feedback directly with you on our Discord server. If you should find the time to report any problems you encounter while playing our Early Access version, we would be highly grateful for your assistance in ensuring that Expeditions: Samurai will be polished to a shine when it releases fully in early 2027.
