Conductor's Log Day 5: Expedition

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to the fifth of our Conductor logs, where the passengers raid a facility, trying to find supplies:
Day 5: Expedition
Much to my surprise both Driver and Pilot had decided to join Gunner and me on this expedition. With curious eyes I watched as they suited up themselves, my eyes drawn to the red timer on my HUD indicating how much battery we had left and which was racing towards zero.
In that moment it truly hit me what that meant.
Every second matters, because every second we remained stationary, means a second closer to the train shutting down, which means a second closer to this all being over.
With a tight nod, we gathered at the exit doors before hopping off the train. For a few seconds, all I could hear was my own breathing and the loud crunching from the snow beneath our feet.
The heavy metal doors loomed over us, and with one final deep breath, we slid them open, stepping into the interior of the facility.

The sound of robots on patrol echoed through the corridors, their heavy metal footsteps filling the otherwise silent complex. Gunner holds up a finger to their lips, signalling us to stay quiet. Well as silent as we could in these huge exosuits.
We did our best to follow Gunner's lead. But the truth was: we didn't stand a chance.
We had managed to make it to a room full of crypods, some open, some closed. I shudder to think what the open cryopds meant. Driver got to work hacking the closed ones open, while we covered the exits.
The new passengers stepped out, confusion etched on their faces, but we couldn't explain much. Just directed them back to the train, before pushing onwards.
Pilot lead the way, nodding at us to stay a bit behind. I had just turned my head to check behind us when a piercing scream shook through my soul.

I look back, watching their lifeless body hitting the floor. Gunner grabs me, throwing me behind cover. They try to jump after me, but a loud blast rings in my ears. Their corpse splattering next to me. I clutch my gun, panic filling my lungs. I couldn't breathe.
Driver’s shaking hands dragged me behind the door.
A quick peak revealed what got our fellow crewmates.
A turret.
Surrounded by a blue shield, moving back and forth searching for it's next target....
