Post-Release Roadmap

With just a few hours to go before release, I thought I'd distract myself by sharing a quick update on what didn't quite make it into the v1.0 build and what to expect over the coming months.
I've noted down every single bug report, suggestion and piece of feedback that I've received, however building a solo project means I have to be mindful of my time and have had to focus on the things with the biggest impact. For v1.0, I've been focusing almost entirely on bugs, core mechanics, feel, and balance. That means a few requested features were pushed back, but I want to highlight that they are very much on the way!
Immediate Priority (Week 1 + 2): Post-Launch Patches & Feedback
Once the game is live, for my own sanity I'll probably go touch some grass for a few hours but when I come back:
- First Bug & Balance Patch: I'll be collating and analysing all the immediate feedback and get a patch out ASAP addressing the most critical bug or balancing issues.
- Follow-Up Patch: I expect to to make subsequent passes over the following weeks as players start to work their way through the higher difficulty runs and later tables.
Next Few Months (2026)
- Dedicated Cabinet & VPin Support: While *Cult of PiN* works on vertical monitors and should natively map to most cabinet controls, it lacks some of the requested VPin QoL settings. I'd like to add adjustable camera angles, HUD offsets, secondary backglass display support and a few other things before the end of the year.
- Expanded Boss Encounters & Audio: There are currently 14 unique boss spells alongside their individual passive traits, but I wanted these encounters to feel a bit more distinct. I’ll be adding more spell variations, custom music tracks, and visual flavor to make every boss fight feel unique.
Consoles & New Content (2027)
- Xbox & Nintendo Switch Ports: I’ve already started the porting process, and once the PC build is fully stable and settled, I’ll be picking this back up with a target launch of early 2027.
- Content Drops (Glyphs, Blessings & Curses): I have a decent backlog of unused ideas (and community suggestions!) for new Glyphs, Blessings, and Curses. These will be rolled out gradually via content updates over the next 12 months.
For existing demo players - I believe I've managed to squash the bugs that have so far been reported in the demo, and I have rebalanced the physics to make it less volatile overall and allow for traditional pinball trick shots. I've also added support for demo saves in the full release, so your progress should carry over - although the leaderboards are distinct so you'll have to climb your way back up :)
And once again I'd like to thank you all for your patience and support over the last 2 years. I hope the game lives up to expectations but if not, you can always let me know on the dedicated Discord channel and I'll do my best to improve it until it does!
Happy Flipping!
Kenny
