Hello Ascenders!

Thank you for your awesome support for Ascend to ZERO! We are blown away by just how many have you been jumping into the game, freezing time, and saving the world. We also appreciate all of the feedback and bug reports sent our way.

In our first patch after launch, we are looking to resolve issues that our community has shared to us through the bug report form, Steam community and reviews, Discord, as well as just watching you guys play on streaming platforms.

We will continue to keep working on the game, fixing up things along the way, and continue to shape the best Ascend to ZERO experience possible! Resolved Issues

  • Fixed an issue where in the inventory screen, certain terms were not translated fully.
  • Fixed an issue where in certain circumstances, the first left-click on an item did not work as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where the inventory would not work as intended when the inventory was full and new items would be acquired.
  • Fixed an issue where the inventory tutorial guide appeared at an unintended time.
  • Fixed an issue where picking up discarded items would lock the items from being obtained if the inventory was full.
  • Fixed an issue if the "Auto Equip/Pick Up Items" option is turned off, rewards from completing certain quests was not automatically collected.
  • Fixed an issue if the "Auto Equip/Pick Up Items" option is turned off, rewards from defeating the final boss was not automatically collected.
  • Fixed an issue where certain monsters did not have their correct names in the Handbook.
  • Fixed an issue where in certain circumstances, players would be stuck in wall when hit by certain attacks in stage 4.
  • Fixed an issue where in certain circumstances, players would be stuck when entering the Stage 4 final boss area.
  • Fixed an issue where when playing a build that uses a large number of projectiles, severe lag can occur.
  • Fixed an issue where when a certain item was equipped, the stage timer would not function as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where the tech chip "Slow Mode" did not work as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where in certain circumstances, defeating the final boss with specific weapons would cause the cutscene to not proceed as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where the Steam Next Fest reward was only obtainable by reseting the game.
  • Improved the reset position function to work up to 5 times.
  • Applied a fix where in certain circumstances, the game may crash during/immediately after specific boss fights. This is being continuously be worked on.
  • Fixed an issue where under certain circumstances, the game's auto-save function did not work as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where during the tutorial, if a dialogue window was open and the menu was opened, the UI would disappear.
  • Fixed an issue where in certain circumstances, the tutorial runs slower than intended in the dash timing section.
  • Fixed an issue where if a slow motion effect was triggered at the same time as obtaining a Tech Chip, the Tech Chip screen would disappear and prevent progress.
  • Fixed an issue where equipping the Golden Skin while wearing the Chrono Child - Midnight Sun skin would revert the character to the default skin.
  • Fixed an issue where the effects of certain Weapon Tech Chips would persist longer than intended.
  • Fixed an issue where certain Weapon Tech Chips' effects that converts long-range damage reduction into increased melee damage did not work as intended.

Known Issues

  • There is an issue when picking up Slot Module chips, the description does not state which slot the Slot Module chip affects.
  • There is an issue where after defeating the penultimate boss of the game in Stage 4, if time is paused for too long during the ending cutscene, the dialogue sequence repeats.
  • There is an issue in certain circumstances when the Time Machine upgrades are reset through Gabriella, the saved Time Machine loadout may not be adjustable.
  • There is an issue in certain Tech Chip selection screens where certain Tech Chips do not have the correct VFX.
  • There is an issue where in certain circumstances on Stage 4, enemies fall through the floor preventing progress.
  • There is an issue where after achieving the true ending, the correct dialogue does not play in certain circumstances.
  • There is an issue where certain Tech Chips' SFX are louder than intended.
  • There is an issue where attacking the training dummy while having the 'Sealed Diary' equipped initially deals 1 damage after the first stun. Once the stun is applied again, the damage returns to normal.
  • There is an issue where certain Weapon Tech Chips' stacked effected reset when unequipping and re-equipping the Weapon Tech Chips.
  • There is an issue where in certain circumstances, pressing Tab causes the UI to not function as intended.
  • There is an issue if the "Auto Equip/Pick Up Items" is enabled and an item is dropped, then the "Auto Equip/Pick Up Items" option is turned off, the item can no longer be picked up.
  • There is an issue where dashing into certain areas of the map may cause the player to remain stuck.
  • There is an issue where in certain circumstances, damage cannot be dealt as intended to enemies.
  • There is an issue where if the Inventory key is remapped to Tab, other Tab-related key bindings are not updated as intended.
  • There is an issue where the intro scenes do not progress as intended.
  • There is an issue where in specific circumstances the V-Sync feature does not work as intended.
  • There is an issue where in certain circumstances, weapons do not reload as intended.
  • There is an issue where during specific special encounters, in specific circumstances certain bosses may spawn in a way that prevents progress.
